COBRA SUBSIDY EXTENDED UNTIL MAY 31, 2010
Initially established in April 2009, the federal subsidy program for group health coverage continued under COBRA has once again been extended.
The Continuing Extension Act of 2010 extends the eligibility period for the federal COBRA subsidy (which expired on March 31, 2010) until May 31, 2010. Employers should revise their COBRA notices to any “assistance eligible individual” terminated after March 31, 2010.
