From Raising Capital to Raising Vaccine Awareness

Michael Margolis, R.Ph. is the Co-Head of Healthcare, Head of Healthcare Life Sciences at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. Not only is Michael an accomplished investment banker, but he is also a longtime veteran of the pharmaceutical industry. His unique interdisciplinary experience proved particularly valuable during his work on the Moderna IPO in 2018. Michael never lost sight of his healthcare roots, and when coronavirus hit his community hard, he immediately jumped at the opportunity to give back.

As a licensed pharmacist, Michael was able to help address the shortage of qualified individuals able to administer vaccines at the Essex County Covid-19 Vaccination Site. In a tieback to his full-time position, this vaccination site was one of the first facilities in New Jersey to administer the Moderna vaccine. Michael was a valuable contributor to have on site; he was able to spend time with other healthcare professionals and helped to monitor patients after the vaccine process. He spent a few rewarding weekends there volunteering time to his community to help bring awareness, support a cause, and make new relationships.
