Larissa A. Poindexter’s investment strategy is “Prepare. Buy Quality. Be Patient.” She founded The Poindexter Group in 2011 to manage total-return portfolios for her clients. A meticulous researcher, she invests in dividend-paying companies that are independently rated A- or better. Then she advocates patience: She has found holdings of this caliber have the potential to benefit shareholders over the long term.

Through The Poindexter Group, Larissa has built a team with specific expertise to complement her quality dividend-paying strategy, including value investing, fixed income investing, and financial planning. She believes this well-rounded approach best serves her clients, helping to protect and grown their assets in accordance with their personal, financial objectives.

The daughter of the community doctor in Crystal City, Texas, Larissa appreciates and welcomes a diversity of clients, much like her father did many years ago. She earned an English degree from University of Houston and applies the rigorous research skills she honed there to earnings calls, annual reports, proxy statements and all other available company-performance information.

Larissa began her career as a stock broker in 1985 and rose to portfolio manager in 1994. She joined the Houston office of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in 2009, eventually becoming a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager for Omega Group. She is a long-time resident of Houston and an avid reader of history, economics and the classics. She also devotes considerable time to animal protection and rescue.

John D. Coombs has developed and refined a conservative, value-oriented investment style based on distinct, carefully crafted portfolio models. Each balances different combinations of risk and potential performance. He joined The Poindexter Group in 2011 and advises and manages equity and bond portfolios for both individuals and small corporations.

John’s methodology requires that his clients have a long-term horizon and a need for highly disciplined asset management. Realistic and reasonable performance goals and portfolio risk assessment are key components of his value-added service. His approach complements The Poindexter Group’s quality dividend-paying strategy, “Prepare. Buy Quality. Be Patient.”

In 1993, John joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. as a Vice President for Investment. Previously he had worked for 10 years as an Assistant Vice President within the Private Client Division at Merrill Lynch. In 2007, he met the selection criteria for inclusion in Oppenheimer’s professional money management program, the Omega Group. After satisfying the requirements of the program, he was appointed Omega Senior Portfolio Manager.

John earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Massachusetts after attending Cornell University. He is an active long-distance runner and competitive cross-country skier. He calls two cities home – Center Tuftonboro, New Hampshire, and Houston, Texas.

Suzanne D. Rismiller is a Director - Investments with the Houston-based Poindexter Group of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. She also holds the Certified Financial Planner Professional (CFP®) designation. Her practice focuses on assisting individuals and families identify and work toward their goals. She advocates financial planning as an ongoing process; one that is regularly reviewed and adjusted.

Suzanne joined The Poindexter Group in 2017. In 2019, she was one of 45 Oppenheimer employees selected to participate in its Associate Financial Advisor program. As a part of this program, she assisted senior colleagues in activities related to financial planning. In 2022, a promotion to Director - Investments by Oppenheimer recognized her abilities and commitment to financial planning.

A Texas native, Suzanne spent a portion of her childhood growing up in France. This early immersion abroad instilled in her an interest in international relations. Suzanne graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in international relations and international business. She went on to earn her master’s degree in international business at Grenoble École de Management in France.

Suzanne lives in Houston and enjoys long walks with her dog Remi, volunteering with Harris County Junior League, participating in the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumna Association, and tending to her garden.

Matthew S. Wukitsch serves as command central for day-to-day operations of The Poindexter Group. Accuracy and efficiency define his approach to client and colleague services. His efforts contribute to advancing The Poindexter Group’s investment strategy: Prepare. Buy Quality. Be Patient.

Matthew joined the Philadelphia office of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in 2013. He transferred to the Houston office more than a year ago to be near his wife’s family. Prior to joining Oppenheimer, he spent three years in investment banking with J.P. Morgan. His move from investment banking to private wealth management was motivated by his desire to have personal relationships with the individuals he was helping.

A native of Pennsylvania, Matthew graduated from Drexel University, earning a dual degree in finance and economics. During his time at Drexel, he completed three six-month internship-engagements with area hedge funds. He graduated with one-and-a-half years direct, hands-on work experience in the field.

Matthew lives with his wife in Houston. His personal interests include hiking and biking as well as baseball, basketball and football, international travel, and the art and craft of woodworking.
