Biography
Matthew Steinfeld is a Senior Director of Investments with Oppenheimer. He originally joined the firm in 1988, later spending time with a major international investment company before returning to Oppenheimer in 2003. He began his career on Wall Street working closely with Arthur Kern, a noted market technician and strategist.
Mr. Steinfeld takes a holistic approach to investments, leveraging Oppenheimer research and macroeconomic trend analysis. He has extensive experience in constructing diversified portfolios that incorporate both public and private investments.
As part of his practice, Mr. Steinfeld emphasizes tax-advantaged strategies, including the use of Tax-Exempt Municipal Bonds and Tax-Deferred Annuities. He provides clients with informed guidance and perspectives on municipal bonds, helping them evaluate their role within a comprehensive investment plan. With more than 30 years of experience managing client portfolios, he maintains a disciplined focus on long-term, life-cycle investing.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Mr. Steinfeld lives in the New York City metropolitan area with his wife and son. His hobbies include collecting cars, cooking, travel, and skiing. On weekends he can often be found coaching his son’s baseball team and accompanying him to local sports events.
