About the Branch

Matthew Watson has spent more than 30 years in the financial services industry and has served as Branch Manager of Oppenheimer’s Red Bank, New Jersey office since 2017. As both a Branch Manager and producing Financial Professional, Matt has firsthand understanding of what advisors need to successfully build and grow their business.

Matt began his career with A.G. Edwards before moving his practice to Raymond James Financial in 2009. In 2017 he joined Oppenheimer, attracted by the firm’s entrepreneurial culture, flexibility and resources, as well as the opportunity to build and grow the Red Bank branch.

Located in the heart of downtown Red Bank, the office combines the personal attention and accessibility of a boutique environment with the technology, research and resources of Oppenheimer’s global platform. Matt’s approach to management is straightforward: understand what each Financial Professional is trying to accomplish and provide the support and resources to help them get there. As a producer himself, he understands the day-to-day realities of managing client relationships while continuing to grow a business.

Matt earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from California State University, Fullerton. Before entering financial services he played professional baseball in the Toronto Blue Jays minor league system and has since completed an Ironman-distance triathlon.
