FINANCIAL ADVISOR
MANAGING DIRECTOR-INVESTMENTS, SENIOR PORTFOLIO MANAGER
For over 35 years, Scott Shulman has assisted clients in working towards their goals through conservative income and growth strategies. He is a Senior Portfolio Manager in Oppenheimer’s OMEGA Group*, which empowers him to actively manage his clients’ wealth.
His career path and educational background have well-prepared him for his work. At the University of Maryland, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1982, his studies included accounting, business law, finance, economics and investing. As co-founder of the University’s Finance, Business and Investment Society, he showed an early interest in managing money, and entered the financial services industry in 1983 as a full-service Financial Advisor.
After working for a national securities firm for over a decade, he joined Ferris, Baker Watts in 1996. Scott rose to chair its advisory board in 1999 and to serve as a director of its General Board for over a decade, starting in 2000. He joined Oppenheimer in 2011. Scott has refined a sophisticated, 5-step process to identify and manage high quality investments that seek to provide portfolio growth during a client’s working years, and a potentially rising income stream throughout retirement.
Scott is active in his community. For 18 years, he was an executive officer and member of the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Clubs, Montgomery County Branch. He has supported high school and university internship programs for over 20 years and has sponsored youth baseball both as a volunteer and financially for over 20 years.
He and his wife split time between Potomac, MD and Juno Beach, FL. They have two children. His main interests, outside his work and civic responsibilities, are his family, the study of Bible doctrine, golf, and attending baseball games.
FINANCIAL ADVISOR
Peter helps individuals and families make clear, confident decisions about their money.
He builds practical financial plans designed to help clients reach their most important financial goals. His work brings together retirement planning, tax strategy, investments, and estate planning into one easy-to-follow plan so that each part of a client’s financial life works together.
The goal: to show clients exactly how much they need, create a clear plan to get there, and help keep them on track.
Peter works extensively with Realtors and their families, and understands the financial planning challenges that accompany variable, commission-based income. He helps them manage uneven cash flow and create consistent retirement savings. This specialization allows him to deliver planning structures built specially for the needs of 1099 earners and their W2 spouses.
Before becoming a financial advisor, Peter led recruiting and professional development for the Mid-Atlantic region at Compass Real Estate, where he was a top performer. He has also advised Fortune 500 companies as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group.
He earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Florida.
Peter lives on Capitol Hill with his two rambunctious boys. He serves as the classroom parent for his 5-year old’s class and is parent-manager for his oldest son’s soccer team. In his spare time, he enjoys playing competitive tennis, being outdoors, and making cocktails with friends.
