As leader of the Montmorency Financial Advisors, Jim is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the investment process. For over 30 years, Jim has developed and implemented tactical investment strategies to help clients work towards achieving their financial goals. His success is evidenced by the longevity of the client relationships he has created throughout his career.

Jim graduated from Western Michigan University in 1973. Jim and his wife have lived in Kalamazoo for over 40 years. They have three adult children and six grandchildren.

Kyle Montmorency assists clients with accumulating, preserving, and distributing wealth. His focus is on multigenerational planning strategies and professional money management.

Kyle is a graduate of Michigan State University and DePaul University College of Law. After working in Chicago for 6 years as a trusts and estates attorney, Kyle returned to his native Kalamazoo to join his father Jim as part of Montmorency Financial Advisors of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.

Kyle resides in Texas Township and enjoys spending time with his growing family. He is an avid Spartan fan and enjoys the lifelong challenge of improving his golf game.

Cia Frey joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in December 2015. Her passion is to guide clients through the planning process, from goal setting and organization of assets, to investment and income planning.

Originally from Chicago, Cia graduated from the University of Iowa College of Business. She began her investment industry experience working on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade and then as an analyst for a large independent rating agency.

Cia lives in Kalamazoo with her husband and three children. Spending time at the beach and boating are their favorite family activities.

Ellie has worked at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. since she graduated from Western Michigan University in 2017. She began as an intern and worked her way up to become a Financial Advisor.

Ellie is a zealous advocate when it comes to financial planning and problem solving. She excels in assisting client's plans in executing their financial goals.

Originally from Plainwell, Ellie now resides in Kalamazoo. She enjoys spending time at Lake Michigan and following Detroit sport teams, especially the Lions.

Tara Ojala supervises operations and administrative details. She is available to answer clients’ questions on account transactions, balances, check writing, and monthly statements. Tara focuses on raising the clients’ comfort with the information provided, whether it is the traditional monthly statements or technology via the Internet. Tara lives in Portage with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys spending time at her family’s lake house in northern Michigan.
