Oppenheimer is proud to sponsor Operation Warm for the seventh consecutive year, demonstrating our ongoing dedication to supporting the Chicago community. Mike Kelly, Director of Investments in Oppenheimer’s Chicago office, has been a key advocate for this initiative, helping to provide new winter coats to children in need across the area.

This year, Mike played an important role in securing Oppenheimer’s sponsorship of Operation Warm’s Coats for Kids Charity Benefit, held on September 26, 2025, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Glenview. The event sold more than 100 tickets and raised funds to supply over 800 new coats to underprivileged children.
Operation Warm is guided by its “More Than a Coat” philosophy, which emphasizes that every coat offers not only physical warmth but also confidence, encouragement, and hope for a brighter future. Over 24 years, the organization has distributed more than 5 million coats and 200,000 pairs of shoes across 1,200 communities, reaching children living in poverty, foster care, and temporary shelters.
Since joining Oppenheimer in 2018, Mike has been passionate about helping children stay safe and warm during Chicago’s harsh winters. His commitment, along with the dedication of the Oppenheimer team, highlights the impact that corporate social responsibility and community involvement can achieve. Together, they are making winter warmer and brighter for children across Chicago.
