Our Team

James joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in 1979 after working as an entrepreneur in New York City. He is the Managing Director and Omega Group Senior Portfolio Manager of the team.

James’s investment approach focuses on the future of the economy and industries he feels will benefit due to demographic demand for their products, low current valuation of their business relative to their future earnings and companies with disruptive economics. His investment strategy employs sector analysis combined with a philosophy of growth at a reasonable price to help build diversified portfolios of high-quality equities. He holds the General Securities Representative License (Series 7), the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Exam (Series 65), the National Commodity Futures Exam (Series 3) and Life and Health Insurance Licenses.

James enjoys time with his daughter, son and grandchildren. He also appreciates traveling, golf, fishing, the metaverse, cooking, novels and economic history.

Jonathan Robinson joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in 2000, and in 2007, he earned the Certified Financial Planner™ designation by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. Jonathan’s financial planning process gives clients a big picture view of their financial health while laying out steps needed to reach their goals. Through his comprehensive plans, Jonathan instills meaning, confidence and accountability to his client’s financial future.

Forbes has recognized The Watt Group in their annual advisor rankings as a top wealth management team, and Jonathan has been a central part of The Watt Group since its founding in 2000.

Jonathan is a graduate of the University of Virginia where he received a Bachelor of Arts in environmental science. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Dekalb class of 2012 and a past president of the UVA Club of Atlanta. He lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with his wife and two daughters, and regularly commutes to Atlanta to meet with clients. In his free time he enjoys trail running, reading everything from science fiction to history and watching college basketball.

Since joining Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in 2016, Peter has developed strong client relationships through responsive financial guidance. He works closely with the team to create a meaningful experience and deep advocacy for each family.

Peter has lived in Atlanta for over 30 years, where he attended The Westminster Schools for 13 years. He went on to graduate with honors from The University of the South where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Music.

He holds the General Securities Representative License (Series 7) and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination (Series 66). Peter is also licensed as an agent in Life and Health Insurance in the State of Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina and South Carolina.

On a personal note, Peter, his wife and sons enjoy traveling, cooking, community service and spending time with their dog Samantha.

Kathy joined Oppenheimer in 2006, focusing on client administrative needs, trades and account management. She has held the General Securities Representative License (Series 7) and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination (Series 63) since 1984. She enjoys domestic and international travel, cooking (self-published a cookbook), interior design and outdoor sporting events. Born and raised in Atlanta, her love of the Atlanta Falcons began many years ago when her father purchased season tickets in 1965 when the club was founded. She currently lives in Smyrna with her husband, Bill.
