Oppenheimer & Co. has acted as Exclusive Financial Advisor to the Rudd Family Trusts on the sale of Rudd Estate (“Rudd” or the “Company”) to St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery (“St. Supéry”), a subsidiary of Chanel, Inc. (“Chanel”).
Founded in 1996, Rudd Estate is a premier winery nestled in the heart of Napa Valley’s prestigious Oakville AVA. The estate’s 65-acre vineyard is one of the region’s most coveted, small-production wineries known for Cabernet-dominant blends of extraordinary depth and character. Rudd’s commitment to excellence extends from its organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards to a state-of-the art facility, complete with ~20,000 square feet of subterranean wine caves where each vintage is carefully aged.
St. Supéry, owned by Chanel, is one of the rare 100% estate-grown Napa Valley wineries known for Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2015, Chanel purchased St. Supéry, marking its first foray into winery ownership in the United States. Chanel also owns Château Canon, Château Rauzan-Ségla and Château Berliquet in Bordeaux, along with Domaine de l’Ile at Porquerolles, Côtes de Provence.
