Oppenheimer's Fixed Income Team Volunteers in Jamaica

  • Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.

For two decades, the Oppenheimer Fixed Income team has been doing business with the leading Financial Institutions in Kingston, Jamaica. Beyond the close institutional ties we have formed with these clients over the years as a leading provider of institutional financial services to the region, the people at these institutions have become dear friends who have formed close partnerships with us in giving back to the local Kingston community.

Over the years, the Fixed Income team and their clients have volunteered with the Salvation Army Nest orphanage and the Haile Selassie High School in Trenchtown. Most recently, with the help of The Church of God in Jamaica, they were able to provide assistance to the Harrison Memorial Holistic Care Centre. Together, in this most recent endeavor, they donated towels, toiletries, gallons of paint, paint supplies, as well as lunch for the workers that helped contribute to the restoration of the facility. Additionally, they were joined by prominent local figures, such as Michael Johnson of the Jamaica Stock Exchange and Marc Goodman of Marvin Goodman & Associates and Goblin Hill Hotel, wielding paint brushes and rollers.

Oppenheimer employees, Elaine Kinczel, Shakiba Stephens, Gregory Johnson, Brigid Donnelly, Christina Lomeli, and newest member Bob Fleming, have donated both financially and through their in-person efforts on the ground in Jamaica. Oppenheimer is proud to have such close ties with the island; during the summer, Gregory and Brigid represented the firm at the Jamaica 60 Diamond Jubilee Gala to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Jamaica's Independence.
