Re-Connecting Through Music

Oppenheimer’s all-employee rock band, Exile on Broad Street, provided a morale boost recently with their virtual performance of a timely message for the moment: “We’ll Meet Again,” a song that originally epitomized the longing and war weariness of the public in the darkest hours of WWII. It provided a reminder of better times ahead.

“During the dislocation and uncertainty in the time of Covid-19, we wanted to spread a little virtual, social distanced hope, say hello, and remind everyone that when it is safe again, the band will strike up once more to help celebrate,” reports Samuel Mann, Senior Director in the Marketing department and the group’s bass player.
The band formed in the NYC office at 85 Broad Street. Their name is a hybrid of a nod to a Rolling Stones album, “Exile on Main Street” and the office location. They perform the best of the 60’s-70’s, with a few oldies and contemporary numbers, and (in pre-Covid days) could be found playing live in downtown Manhattan on Stone Street, or at one of the numerous corporate events they’ve graced throughout the country.
