Every year, March is designated Women’s History Month, and this year March 8th is International Women’s Day. The month and the day are set aside to honor women’s contributions in American and world history. Our own Oppenheimer people participated in events to reflect on women’s contributions to society.

NewsCred, a company that provides actionable insights and streamlines processes for content marketers to tell exceptional stories, hosted an impressive panel of female leaders from diverse backgrounds to discuss their unique experiences. Oppenheimer’s Chief Marketing Officer, Joan Khoury (pictured above, first on the left), was among the esteemed panelists from Silicon Valley Bank, Female Founders Fund, New Enterprise Associates, and Relational Coordination Analytics.

This year’s conversation focused on “Money Moves for Financial Empowerment,” and uncovered the story arcs of women who have managed their careers and finances for stability and empowerment.

At a separate event, twenty inspiring women shared their stories of entrepreneurship, humanitarianism, and empowerment at an intimate high tea ceremony at Washington DC’s historic Willard InterContinental Hotel. Clara Montanez (pictured above in blue) hosted the event.

Each woman spoke of her desires for improving the world through education, compassion, sustainability, and collaboration. Representatives from Rotary International, Bridge to Turkiye, Creative Associates, Feed the Hungry Philippines, and Kaleidoscope Art Foundation discussed empowering others through non-profit activities, both locally and internationally.

So in honor of this special day, we’ve included three inspirational quotes from notable women:

"You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right." — Rosa Parks

"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.” ― Oprah Winfrey

“In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” ― Anne Frank
