Oppenheimer’s European Consumer Investment Banking Team is pleased to have acted as Exclusive Financial Advisor to HEMA on the announced sale of its HEMA Bakeries division to BACU
HEMA Bakeries is a leading Dutch bakery platform that manufactures high-quality daily fresh pastry products exclusively for the HEMA retail store network in the Benelux. The company offers c.150 different products including the iconic Tompouce, Photo Cakes and Drip Cakes, Sweet Cakes and Tarts, and a range of sweet and savoury pastry-based snacking products, which are delivered using the company’s own fleet of vehicles to around 330 HEMA outlets on a daily basis.
HEMA Bakeries operates from a central bakery in Almere and decentralised bakeries in Almere, Sneek, Zwolle, Doetinchem, Dordrecht and Helmond, each of which produces for their respective region of the Netherlands. The 250 skilled employees of HEMA Bakeries will transfer to BACU as part of the transaction.
